Li Aixiao lives and works in Chengdu, China. She has degrees in journalism (2009) and applied psychology (2009) from Southwest University in China, skills she has used in her ongoing creative practice through photography, performance, and writing.
Her main works include 'I'm With Me' (2020-2023), 'The Fish of Yangtze River' (2023), 'What If Sisyphus in 2022' (2022), '肓育' (2021), 'Li Aixiao and Her 100 Photos' (2019), 'Personal Belongings' (2013-2019), etc., and published a photo book 'Personal Belongings' (2020).
In 2024, she won first place in Portraits of Influence for TIME and ASMP's Global Portraiture Competition, as well as the Circuit Off 2024 Prizes for Biennale Della Fotografia Femminile. In 2023, she won the Storytelling Series for the 20th Julia Margaret Cameron Award Professional Section. In 2020, she earned the Jury Choice Award for her self-published book 'Personal Belongings' at the Second Wuhan Photo Art Fair. Moreover, she was named Artist of the Year at the SAYA Embrace Project, and in 2018, she participated in a residency program in Vienna, Austria.
